Abstract
This study sought to assess changes in the four characteristics measured by the Personal Responsibility Orientation – Self-Directed Learning Scaleinitiative, control, self-efficacy, and motivation among mid-career Army officers attending the U.S. Army’s Command and General Staff Officer’s Course. Results were compared among subgroups based on gender, ethnicity, and level of education. This pre-test post-test quasi-experimental study explored the development of self-directed learning for mid-level Army officers.
